This is the second wallet phone cover I’ve purchased. The first one did not protect my phone and it was hard to hold on to. This one is as slim as the first one I purchased, holds more credit cards, and it’s easy to handle. Great value!

Great Case For My Deactivated Galaxy S8

Recently I decided to use my old Galaxy S8 as a pocket sized tablet. But when I went to look for the case I had been using on it before I upgraded my phone I realized I had thrown it out. So I decided to get a new one. I wanted something that would give a little extra bulk to make it easier to hold and provide protection in case I dropped in on the floor. When this case came up in my search I immediately took notice of the colors and the price was hard to beat. I placed the order which arrived the next day. When I opened the evenlope I liked it even more in person. When I first put it on the phone I was a bit puzzled when the phone turned on. It took about 5 to 10 seconds for me to realize it was upside down. After that was resolved it worked like a charm. I went for a walk to test it out and couldn’t be any happier.

I’ve lost many wallets, never lost a phone, and if I did, you can find a phone with GPS. I wanted a case that carries cards, as I rarely use cash anyways, so I tried another one with a sliding door in the back. It sucked, broke easily, the cards weren’t secured, etc. I didn’t want one of those big, cumbersome "folio" things, so I decided to try this one. It’s perfect; secures the cards even when open, acts as a stand, lightweight, easy fingerprint access. One of my favorite purchases this year.

I love it, it’s very business-like, and it fits 3 cards. The only thing I hate is how the phone has low contrasted colors. It would have been nice to get a lighter silver option so that the business-like look of the phone really stands out. Still, I have five stars because it is functionally perfect by being able to fit three cards. I also believe it when it says it offers military-grade protection.

I loved this phone-wallet because it was the first one I’ve ever had. It holds a couple cards, my ID and a little cash, which has allowed me to leave my larger wallet/purse behind. I liked the magnet in the case for use with the vent mount in the car, but the magnet is only on the flap, which is the lower 3/4 of the phone, so I have to place the phone higher than I want to, even with the vent clip on the lowest louver it covers up most of the vent, which gets pretty hot when driving in Florida. I ended up sticking a magnet onto the top 1/4 of the case to avoid this. I still like the case, even though it was pretty heavy, compared to the weight of the phone without the case. But after a year or so the folding stand on the back stopped working and would collapse each time I tried to use it. A couple months after that the flap started to rip, and finally the case itself cracked on the side and kept catching on all kinds of things (clothes, purse-pocket, etc.) It’s time for a new case and sadly I’m not going to repurchase this one. It if was $15 maybe I would get another one, but at $38 it’s too expensive and too heavy, so I’m trying a white leather wallet case for $11.99, It comes with a screensaver. I can slide in the magnet at the top and stick it to to my vent mount. I hope to get the same function at 1/3 the price.

I bought this case because it gives me the best of both worlds - a wallet and a stand. After 5 month’s use, the case still performs both functions, even though I play with the back when I’m bored, adding extra usage to the stand. SO, yes, the case is durable. For thickness, though, I needed to become accustomed to this thicker case - this is my first wallet case, and it reasonable for there to be time for adaptation. There’s unobstructed use of the fingerprint reader and charger, but the earphone jack is a little constricted. That could mean that my jacks are old and need replacing with thinner ones, though.

So despite me giving it a 2/5 for both durability and sturdiness, at the end of the day does it protect my phone? Yes, it absolutely does. This case is my go to case for many phones I’ve had, why? Because first off, it’s a wallet case and who carries a wallet; Second off, it actually protects my phone; Thirdly, it’s cheap. So where does the 2/5 come in? Well the case almost always breaks the first time you drop it. The most vulnerable spot to break is that thin bar of plastic that really just holds your cards together. It’s unlikely that the case will break AND you lose your cards. Much less, the unlikely scenario you don’t even notice. The quality of the magnet is also bad, it doesn’t really hold to itself very well for its holding itself up option to watch TV, but it does stay closed as it’s main intention is. As long as you’re not an idiot and do your due diligence to try to keep your case together, feel free to drop it the thousands of times like I have. Your phone won’t break with this case, and your cards will stay in it.

Being that the pixel 4a has a plastic back, I needed a metal case to have it stick to the magnet in my car. This fits the bill and it is nice not having to carry a wallet around. Who uses cash anyways? A little thick, but may offer better protection than thinner cases. Good buy!
